I was always partial to "How Many More Times" from album #2 and "Rock and Roll" from #4 myself. |

OldWarrior_42, That takes me back. The "Zoso" album is one of my all time favorites right up there with "Who's Next" and "Dark Side of the Moon."But let us not forget "Goin' to California." :-) [I know, this isn't in the right forum. I couldn't help myself. Me bad.]

Yes, Zep is a classic. Not many bands achieved what they did to be sure. Floyd is also another great. Hendrix and Joplin were both amazing performers. C.C.R. turned out many great tunes in a relatively short time as well. The Doors and Bob Dylan were great lyricists. I was thinking about this the other day, wouldn't it be great if when a band went to record an album, they recorded an entire song in one go. Now i don't mean one try and that's it. I mean play through the entire song say 20-30 times and pick the 1 track that sounds the best. That way when we listen to an album we hear what the band really sounds like, and then when we see a live performance it's all that much better. i want to hear the bands talent, not the producer, mixer and editor's. (this may sound a little ironic since jimmy page spent HOURS in the studio working on Zeppelin's stuff, but...) What do you guys think? LdZpln |
