So ACOL is down, I have been moving for the past week. Unfortunately i'll have to use aol for a little while . I thought it was the piece of **** aol connection that I couldn't see any posts in the random chat.

Resurfacing is useful! Maybe people will think that this forum is a really happening place. Assuming nobody looks at dates, I'd say we're doing a good job of creating simulated activity.

I have a question. What should you do when everyone thinks you are a mean, cruel, cold-hearted person when all you are is indifferent, and you wouldn't be that way if you could do one thing which you can't do because everything is just wrong?

Not everybody gets along.
People often don't give each other the chance to show off that silver lining. In the past, I tried reasoning through basic personality differences, only to double my frustration/anger. And to the person on the other end, it looks as if it's directed right at them. Especially if the right questions are never asked.
If you really didn't get a chance to be a nice guy, the best thing to do is to stop trying to effect a solution. Sometimes a miracle happens, such as a mutual and timely change of heart. But the odds are against that, so option two is to allow time, distance, forgetfulness, and a gradual personality change to obscure earlier difficulties.
Or you could go into politics....
