You know: Crossing is X-ing, Christmas is X-mas. So Crossfire is X-fire, thus SMAX.

tfs99: Your conclusion is already known to be correct (according to the official site), but your argument is novel.
Btw, are you as disappointed as i am with the Alien Crossfire news release? It makes the expansion out to be nothing more than one new structure, one new thing you can build, maybe or maybe not a new sea-living capability, and some new factions that we could probably devise ourselves in the existing SMAC. In other words, Patch 5.
You'd think they'd at least introduce more diverse native vegetation and animals.
Getting rid of those terribly slow caviar graphics would be fantastic, but we can sadly anticipate in which sense of the word.

There is actually more stuff than that. New weapons, new armor. 2 new alien units. Five new factions. All in all a buncha stuff, but nothing earth shattering.
