Hey all, I was over at the apolyton forums earlier today, and read some messages that aluded to the following, i was hoping someone could explain these things to me:1) Colony pod trick: Some guy said that colony pods can be built into your city and that in that way you can bypass the hab limits....wtf is he talking about and how do you do it? 2) partial payment: someone else was talking about a partial payment trick, he mentioned something about taking 2x the minerals, and subtracting it from something? Again, please explain what he means . Wank

hey wank, no clue about (2, just as confused.. but I know (1.1)build a pod in any city and move it to the city you want a higher pop in, deploy th pod and boom! a higher pop... but if you go from 7 to 8 with the pod, you can't reach 9 normally. |

The partial payment trick is when you calculate how much to pay so that your mineral production will complete the item in one turn. That way you spend less than the full amount needed to hurry the item, but it gets done just as fast.Example: you're building Recycling Tanks in a city that produces 4 minerals/turn. There are 10 empty spots remaining in the production box. You click on "Hurry", and the game informs you that you can complete the tanks for 20 energy credits, which means that it's charging you 2 credits per box. If you select Partial Payment and pay 12 credits, it will fill 6 boxes. Then, during the production phase, the city's regular production will fill the other 4 boxes, completing the build. Note that the price isn't always 2 credits per box. I don't know exactly what the formulas are (I'm sure someone else does), but it seems that a) military units cost more, and b) the price goes up if less than a certain percentage of the item is already built. |

actually I think it's always 2 energy per production box. But I rarely hurry military units so I'm not completely sure. Just multiply your base production by 2 and subtract that from your total energy to complete. |
