... (looking over shoulder to check for imminent return of The Friend Who Would Not Let Me Install SMAC Even Though I Reinstalled His Dratted Computer And His Friend's Computer From Scratch And You Should See How Many Device Drivers I Had To Download Because He Had Deleted Them Grrrrrr)Anyway... only here for two seconds or so but had to ask: is everyone really going to disappear off to Asian Flu's site? And if so, are we going to take the good threads with us? Shame to leave them here to slowly sink and die... Oh and... my boyf turned up on Saturday with a present for me... not your common-or-garden flowers or choccies, mind you, but... drum roll... a lifesize poster of The Sainted Ewan in full Obi-Wan mode, which he'd bought in HMV. So now I'm wondering... 1. Is he trying to tell me something? 2. Is it sad for 30-year-old women to own movie posters? Actually, don't answer that... 3. Is it legal to marry a poster? hehe Nell... going away again now PS: PBEM turns to follow when I get home...

Please don't go... The drones need you. They look up to you. ;-)I hope everyone decides to stay here. I just wrote up a petition that will hopefully settle everything and solve this problem. That way, everyone will stay here :-). Before you go, please sign the thread "Trip vs. JKM: The Simple Solution". 3: How would a poster take its vows? ;-) |

Nell!1- He likes you. 2- Depends on the poster. 3- No, you can't marry a poster. Sorry. Well, it looks like Asian Flu may be the new secret Newbie camps. No telling what the future will bring. -Darkstar |

Nell,You've outflanked me - for once you're further west than me. I'm staying here. I'm too old to change my ways and shift to another forum - as you know my computer/keyboard skills even lag my spelling! Is it illegal to marry a poster. If it is then you can never marry! If it is, then I'm illegally married to Mrs RC. Also, isn't Obe Wan Jockstrap a bit, well, 2 dimensionsal or would the relationship be a bit flat. Nell, if I haven't been banned by Wednesday, I will be putting up a list for people to submit which posts they'd like to keep, and I'll be transplanting them. All of the cool story threads of course, and the better game related ones, but I'll be hanging at ACOL exclusively after this week.Resource consumer - it's not that tough, and the forums there even work better!!! Come on over. |

MtG,Thanks. I'm glad you don't take offence at my style - some do. The death penalty (forum style) is what has been imposed on TD. Rightly or wrongly, I neither know nor care. What I do know is that it has been proven to be irrelevant by TD's reincarnation(s). So why do we get on our high horses and bother as we can circumvent any sanction... I still disagree with your approach, though. To take offence at a sanction which is absolutely meaningless other than by it's tokenism seems pointless to me. Still, I'm open minded, maybe I'll look in and we can continue the discussion. Oh, by the way, do we both have to mind our language there? Editing posts would be a boon to me but less amusing (possibly) for the rest of you. Resource Consumer - definitely going to bed now - |

RC - you don't have to watch anything there, or the user community as a whole has input to site features and enhancements. |

Nell:What did you think of E McG on Parky on Friday night then? I haven't seen you post about that (or is the keyboard too slippery with drool?) (Don't worry, I will get around to transcribing the MP sketch, but I work away during the week. Or you could look at www.amazon.co.uk, which has got both the volumes of programme transcripts for sale.) Noisy) |

Ahhhh home again... OK so Lahndan ain't really home, but it's where my pooter(s) live (and add to that list my newly-acquired P2 350 Compaq Deskpro... fulfilling two ambitions... (1) to own a Compaq system [you should see how well it's put together... makes an old Rave Queen feel all warm inside]... and (2) to be able to play SMAC after boyf goes to bed and I get relegated to the old P133... so no more waiting until the A.M. to play PBEM turns!Anyway. I guess I'll hang around here and on Asian Flu's site as well... wouldn't want to miss anything... and hey, gotta give that new Compaq something to do! MtG: Good idea about transferring the posts... if most of the regulars on this board do leave, it would be such a shame to lose the good posts. And it would be most excellent to be able to edit posts and use UBB or HTML... sadly lacking here Darkstar: hehe... 1- He likes you. Hmmm after 14 years he had better do... 2- Depends on the poster. This one is SAAADDDD with a capital S A and D. I'll have to hide it when my sister comes round... or face an eternity of mickey-taking... 3- No, you can't marry a poster. Sorry. Damn damn DAMN!! Oh well... I guess I'll just have to start stalking the guy... he lives in London you know... lmao Noisy: Awwww no I missed Parky... but then again, unless EMcG stays in Obi-Wan mode, he's just another actor... superhuman superheroes is where it's at... (not that I have unrealistic ambitions, or anything... hehe) Nell... blessed am I amongst computers... PS: RC... who could possibly find your style offensive? You crack me up And I reckon I could give you a run for your money in the swearing stakes too... off-forum, naturally PPS: evil_c: "The drones need you. They look up to you. ;-)" ... unless they be *very* tall drones, they'd have not much choice about that... |

Asian Flu is also known as Alpha Centauri Online. Its the place that started up to help SMACkers find IP and PBEM partners. Its forum area has been expanded to include a ranting area (All topics) so that their is somewhere to continue conversations and what not.You can find its address in the "what is ACOL" thread. Much better place than Alpha.net to match off and what not. And growing. -Darkstar |

Nell,"You crack me up" - that's not propa lundun u no. Suburb (and Britsol sort of quals) I ain't heard that since I left Guildford (substance capital of the sarfeast - Reading "SHUT IT") more than 10 years ago. We should have a swearing contest down the Bushranger. You, me and, my mate Paul (good friend of Nutty Dave and the Ants). Resource Consumer.. - "So where is this railway****ingstation".. Paul -

You're gonna laught at this. But, until this TD/Wank/banning thing, I thought this was self censorship. And it even picks up in the middle of words. Wow! So. Why doesn't it work with handles. Perhaps that's why we need the human machine. Or do we? Resource Consumer - technologically inadequate and/or dumb as hell... datalinks - |

RC:Me a propah Lahndaner? Perish ver fawt, me old china... Bristol born and Bristol bred, strong in the arm and weak in the head, as they say... Yeah I thought it was self-censorship too at first... because I couldn't see how the software could pick up on f**k but not on c**t or the by-now-getting-very-old Wank user ID... Anyway... you're on for that Bushranger swearfest... so long as you promise that Dave won't bring the ants... hehe You on ICQ? If so you can request me on 872002... not on there much, but it's a quicker way of communicating than this. Nell... online in the day AGAIN! Stop it stop it oh go on then

Nell, not on ICQ I'm afraid. It wouldn't work here as there's a whole lot of firewall issues. Did you notice that the ants were swarming yesterday? All over my road they were an'all. On-line during the day. Slippery slope. |

RC:Logging on at work? Ummmm... don't let the Pointy-Haired Boss catch you! Hey I've been down that slope and climbed back up again... at the height of my MSN-hosting days, I was online 12 hours a night and all weekend, hosting three chat rooms, running two BBSs and simultaneously holding about 10 ICQ conversations... plus sending WAVs and MP3s to three people at a time... surely my modem deserves a medal No but seriously, been there and done that... and not going back there again, for that way madness lies... Nell... wondering who is out of step, me, or the entire world? Hmmmm... |

Nell,Did you ever see the French and Saunders sketch with the 2 actresses explaining their parts in Star Wars.... "I was the 3rd Stormtrooper in the back row. You know it was me as I was marching out of step so as to be noticed. Look, here comes the bit now..... oh they must have cut it" The world hates those that don't daintily tread in others footprints. |
