I know, I know, this is the SMAC forum. But if you are a die-hard SMAC fan like I am, you'd probably want to check out CTP for yourself and see what the fuss is all about. Well, now is a good time as any. BestBuy has CTP on sale for $29.99. Also when you purchase the game, you can get the Strategy Guide for $1.99. Not a bad deal. But hurry, the sale is for this week only! P.S. I am not affilated with Firaxis, Activision or BestBuy.

I got SMAC at the same price at BestBuy a month or two ago about the same time they had a big sale on Sierra titles. It was such a great deal I grabbed KQ:MoE as well. Oops, there went my big savings on SMAC. Lately, the prices there have been as good as any I can find elsewhere, I only had to wait a week for a SMAC sale So, if you're sure you're interested in CTP, grab it now. $30 stings less than 50. |

I could stomach plunking down $30 for a game I haven't demoed yet.But the nearest Best Buy is 50 miles away! Please post these things _ONLY_ in the CTP forums, they only frustrate us stingy SMACers!! Just kidding ... SMAC n ... Ted S. |

ok I am a SMAC fan but I just couldn't resis $30 for CTP. I gave in and bought it. but hey I figured I earned my SMAC fan respect. The previous time I was at comp usa and there were serveral of us considering CTP. I convinced this one guy who bought CTP to also buy SMAC since the guy was a big sid fan from the civ games. Of course he also bought printer paper which I had no influnce in. BTW CTP was $50 at that comp usa and SMAC was the around $34. It was the opposite at Best buy with SMAC at almost $50. |

"Of course he also bought printer paper which I had no influnce in."That is clearly one of the funniest single sentences I have ever read! Ah, my eyes sting from laughing! Good God, Zulu, your brain is a comic gold mine. I'm being serious. You go from a lame, "So me and this guy were hanging out at Best Buy"--and then: BAM! Left-hook. "Of course he also bought printer paper which I had no influnce in." If I could make a comic setup like that once in 50 tries, I'd be happy. You people with me on this, or have I finally just lost it? |

Hmmmm....Sounds to me like CTP may be appearing in the bargain buckets real soon. Mind you, this information was based upon reading the SMAC forums.. |

"Of course he also bought printer paper which I had no influnce in."yin: Of course I'm with you there. But it would have been funnier if Zulu had talked this guy out of buying printer paper and to buy a third game instead, don't you think? Welcome to real life. Once more this turns out to beat any fiction. |

Aredhran,I never thought of it that way. Damn! You're right! I actually washed the baby today, read the newspaper, shaved...I suddenly remember my wife's name! I have friends! (o.k., friend, but I can only see him during visiting hours). Brian Reynolds, I misunderstood you! |

I assume that, when you say "visiting hours", that you're an intern in a psychiatric hospital, and that your friends, uh, friend gets to see you, like, one hour per day or something ?Don't worry my friend, with SMACaddiction out of your system, you'll be out of there soon And when you go back to the outside world, save a thought for poor souls like me who don't have enough willpower to say NO... OK, where was I ? Ah, yes. Send these transports off to Miriam's Island, and see if she can do something with that bible of hers agains my Probability Shard Infantry ! And while those ships happily sail away, let's dump a PB on the Hive... BWWWAHAHAHAH The world is mine ! MINE ! ALL MINE ! What did you say, Lal ? Did I hear you say "no way" ? KABOOM !!! There goes UN Headquarters HEHEHE Hey, who are these two big guys entering my University Base ? And what are they doing with this weird coarse shirt with long sleeves and leather straps ? HEY, leave me alone, you b*stards ! Let me go, you <futile struggle> <Silence> Dear Sirs, I have the privilege to announce that Mr. Aredhran is now an honored guest here at the Sunny Mesa Mental Hospital, and he's doing just fine, thank you. And never mind these noises you hear, it's just him banging his head against the wall, and screaming "let me go, Corazon is going to send these missiles anytime now" - or something like that. I have no idea what he's ranting about. Dr. Saint d'Esprit Director Sunny Mesa Mental Hospital
