And as to your vehemence -- after all aren't these only just games and only just posts? And all this info is coming to you:
1) via ethereal photons,
2) generated from tiny electrons,
3) that are emitted in response to a complex electrical circuit,
4) that is connected to a wire
Tsk, tsk.
I for one _DO_ want to hear what SMACers think of CTP and vice versa.
Fifty bucks is not chump change.

How would this be self promotion? I am openly saying to stop talking about this, I didn't mean go visit my site when i said talk about it at another place!
And there are a hundred and one places to discuss SMAC vs. CTP for example, the Apolyton Civilization Comparison BB. And we have already heard what SMAC'ers think of CTP a hundred times over, I frankly am sick of it, and I know some people agree with me...

Solution...don't read those threads.
If you accidently go into a thread and your browser ambushes you with some unexpected game comparisons, immediately avert your eyes from the main part of the screen and beeline your mouse up towards that big back arrow at the top. Click with all haste, and you will be transported away from the offending material.

Actually IkshahI you are right. Firaxis setup this forum for SMAC, not CTP. I did however post a CTP vs SMAC message yesterday but that is the first and last one I will post on here because this is Firaxis's forum not Activision's. I think Activision should put up a CTP forum, they have a great game on their hands too and I would hate to see them ruin it by not supporting it. Firaxis had theirs up before SMAC was even released. I think Firaxis will support SMAC more then Activision will with CTP as in patches updates etc.

Well, I have to agree.
We are using the SMAC game forum here.
In this place we schould be talking about the game SMAC!
But, since Firaxis has been so kind, we all can use the Non-SMAC forum for Civ:CTP. This forum is so big, even whitout thread's about CTP, so IMHO you all can talk about CTP under the non-smac forum. (Best is of course to use Activisions forum.)

I disagree. Try going to Apolyton's CTP-only forum, and you'll see SMAC crap all over it too. It is about SMAC and how it relates to other games. I agree with Pique... don't read the thread. If porn offends you, do you go to their sites and complain? No, you just stay away from them.

I'm seeing the last day's thread and there are 30-40 threads, perhaps more. 5-6 are about CTP, and dont gforget these are the first days of it's release. What's the big deal? It's logical for smacers to talk about it...

Well said, MarkG. Hardly anyone pays attention to which thread is posted in what forum, so lighten up people. We all don't have time to surf to every forum on every site.
However, if you would like to see two very good sites, go to www.sidgames.com/ac and Aployton CS. I highly recommend them.
But I don't read their forums much, 'cuz I don't have _TIME_!
