just how hard is it to detect a sub? i built a couple in a recent game and while i was cruising the shoreline the spartans dropped a missile on me. now i know that they are "difficult to detect" but do you have to try and move into the same square as an enemy sub to see it? did the spartans get lucky? and also, for anyone who knows, are cloaked units completely invisible all the time, or just when they need to be to ignore zones of control? thanks in advance, Jon Pall

From reading about this in other threads (browse around, its faster than waiting for a reply_usually_ and keeps the number of redundant postings down), I'd say the AI cheats, i.e. cloaking/deep pressure hull doesn't work against computer opponents. This is probably a bug, since it seems to occur far, far too frequently (in my observation) to be luck.Oh, and its annoying as H*** |

AI cheats. the AI can also spot your units when hiding in fungus (unlike when the AI is hiding). wish this would get fixed. |

Perhaps when a sub is within 2 squares of a sensor, it becomes spotted? (just like cloaked units). |
