Question to Activision: Where the hell did the Pyramids go? And Hollywood as a wonder? Are you taking the piss?(Note: That was the polite verison, since you ask. If anyone can phrase it nicer, please do so... ) |

Shining1: Where the heck did the Pyramids go? And Hollywood as a Wonder? Were you relieving bodily fluids?;-) I still think "Contraception" as a Wonder takes the cake, as well as future wars being fought with female cyborgs with swords. |

If you're referring to Plasmatica, she doesn't have a sword, she has plasma cannons. Anyway, are you going not to buy a game because you dont like one unit(which you can modify)?Markos, Apolyton CS |

It seems like one of the major complaints about ctp is related to wonders or tech. The 2 main complaints i have heard are against birth control and the stirup. However, i was surprised the other day to read an article in newsweek, an article in which the scientific communitee gave their opinions of the most important inventions in history. And what was one of these featured inventions, none other than the stirup and the pill. So at least CTP folks seem to have done some research, unlike the majority of those who have complained against the game. |

I think that most people will argue with the style of CTP, not the accuracy. Sure, I agree that stirrup and contraception were probably some of the most important inventions. But they sound pathetic, IMNSHO.Same goes with the unconventional warfare. Great concept - war without military units. But some of the units just sound stupid. A Park Ranger for instance, a televangelist for another. Again, IMNSHO, and lots of other people's. Plus the fact that they are removing lots of the CIV and CIV II content, which people were so used to (and liked so much), such as the Pyramids. I mean, I love the idea of Stonehenge as a wonder - great idea. But why get rid of the Pyramids? I also have reservations about things like trade routes. Great idea - I no longer have to make caravans - yeah! However, with Piracy, I have no idea if it'll be a pain or not. Same goes for placing improvements, wages, and a lot of other things. I will give them credit for trying to take it to the next level, but I just don't know if they'll pull it off or not. Anyway, I will be giving the game a go, if and when they release a demo, and I will view it with a (hopefully) open mind. If it is better than CIV II, then I'll buy it. As for the chat - that'll be the middle of the day here, so I won't be able to make it. |
