Am I missing something or are small numbers better than large ?
OK It's probably in the manual somewhere, but that's wasting good game playing (sorry PC rebooting) time . Anyone have the answer "off of the top of their head" ?

Wildlife Tamer Mind Worm
24^-?-3*4 ?-?-1
PSI: 3 PSI: 2
Elite: +50% Demon Boil: +50%
Dream Twist: +50%
Planet: -40%
Strength: 4.04 Strength: 3.00
Power: 30 Power: 10
Don�t recall exact composition of the Wildlife Tamer (Game at home, Internet Access at work) but it was some form of hover tank with PSI defence.
Anyway, larger PSI, Elite/Demon cancel each other out, Dream Twist more than compensates for Planet, greater strength, and greater power.
Winning a cinch eh ? Then why the "Do you want to reconsider because your force is so puny" type message ?
Surely it ought to be a "Congratulations you'll walk this one" type message.
(Sure enough my tank got pulverised. - My shielded Formers do better !)

Hmmm why don't they use a proportional font in these things ?
Or is there a way to specify one ?

Your statistics say you'll lose when you clearly have the odds in your favor based on the information shown? Happens to me all the time, especially fighting worms, not so much with isles or locusts though

Your problem is the fact that Psi combat ignores the effect of High end reactors... It is possible to lose that combat. You might have 30 power, but it'll still drop 10% at a time. Also, were the worms on a fungus square? If so, they got a defense bonus.
Never bother putting a high end weapon on a worm hunter, weapon 1 is just as effective as a weapon 24...

Reactor has no effect on Psi combat, but the combat calculator doesn't take that into account. So if you're attacking a worm with a 30-power unit and it says you have 2:1 advantage, what it really means is you have a 2:3 disadvantage.

I've noticed this as well. The bad part is, even though this is just "a bit annoying" to most of us, to some people it means they will just shy away from the battle...
