Big ones, small ones, slimy ones, creepy ones...Just to make a list of every species of bug reported so far in SMAC, from the infinite range planet busters to echoing sound to the terrain display bug. Not a wish list for new features, but a simple list of errors.

Yes, but not a list of everything in it. And everyone seems to post here... so I thought this would be the best place to compile one. |

OK, I got one. The game I'm playing now locks up whenever I end my current turn in the year 2400. I've reloaded the auto-save up to five years back and every time I get to the end of year 2400 it locks up and I have to CAD out of it. Only other game I've played that lasted this long was the very first one I played after getting the game on Lib. level, so I'm kind of disappointed that this one is going bad...I really wanted to finally see that Transcendance ending. Free Prototype bug: Design two similar units, obsolete one, then update it to the other. Instant prototype complete.Build base on top of Mt. Planet bug: Hitting "B" gives you the "Invalid Base Site" message, but using the right-click menu allows you to build the base. I've also heard of an unlimited paradrop range and artillery range bug (don't know how to duplicate these however), and a few others that I can remember right now. GB |

Addendum to my above post...finally got past year 2400, had to reload and replay from 10 turns back. This has happened to me SEVERAL times in the past, but I usually only have to go back 5 turns. Pique |

The game frequently hangs in IPX-multiplayer mode. |

Argh. Please don't do this. Forums are segregated for a reason -- so people don't have to wade through lots of subjects which they're not interested in. Breaking topicality for the sake of increased traffic reduces or eliminates the purpose of creating differently-themed boards in the first place. If you're worried that a topic (on a lower-traffic-ed board) isn't getting enough attention, then posting a "There's a discussion regarding so-and-so under such-and-such topic heading on that board over there" message is a good way to go, but moving all of the discussion over wholesale isn't. |

I think you are correct to post here if you want a complete list, Shiny. Don't spoil this post with more complaining threads please. The first mindworm capture attempt as Gaians are always successful. (Try this one with 5 fast starts as Gaians if you don't believe me) A patrolling mindworm in fungus doesn't go out of patrol mode when encountering another mindworm IN the fungus. (very annoying this one, as it would be quite comfortable to do mindworm farming this way(in patrol mode)) Gagh, and since the patch, the voices are shaaaaking |

Freddz: Mindworm capture is a documentation mistake rather than a game bug. Kjchen: Doesn't work. Ceo SM: Then type fast The list so far: Planter Buster testing: Not done? The lack of an A.I range limit and also diplomatic response to P.B attacks have been critised, and there's some talk that the A.I gets free P.Bs on higher levels (ala Civ Deity). Echoing sound: Widely known Former Bug: Lots of crashes seem to be related to A.I former behaviour. Economic Victory bug: Dunno, but it's been mentioned (yeah, not very helpful, I know. Anyone able to elucidate?) Late game crashes: The whole bloody endgame seems to suffer from insuffient testing. ARRGGGHHHH! Late Game secret projects: No show stoppers, but the whole game balance seems to be widely out of kilter. Definitely needs to be addressed. Unbalanced S.P |

Documentation mistake? Please explain, I'm kinda thick... And what about patrolling, um, Mindworms? Have you tried that one? |

And hey, Shiny, I hope you weren't cute. A friend of mine have noticed the same with first capture(he plays Gaians a lot) |

Freddz: Explain the cute thing?Mindworm capture was heavily altered during the beta test to tone down the Gaian's 'mindworm rush' strategy. I've noticed the Gaian's first capture thing too, and find it's extremely useful. But you'll also find that the next five or so worms tend to fight rather than surrender. There's no 25% capture chance at work here - it's modified according to the number of worms you own. Which is the documentation mistake (for higher values of planet, I think there may even be a bug? It was mentioned some time ago...)

Get your point. Yeah... prob right. Strange choice that 1st capture attempt should always be successful though...As for cute thing: for a short terrible moment I thought you were talking about my documentation(being a mistake) Peace. Knew I wasn't wrong about that one... Guess you haven't tried patrolling. Or have you discovered it not to be a bug? Hmmm... |

There's the friendly fire bug s I found a while back where it seems that while performing an artillery bombardment it is possible for two units(cruisers in my case) belonging to the same player enter into an artillery duel.Had it happen in two different games now. |
