It's a bug and it happen many times to me already:I have two batteries in the city, order one of them to bomb a road just out side of town. The other battery then come out to "return defensive fire". So the two of my batteries are dueling it out right there in my city. One of them get killed and the other badly damaged. Anyone esle seen it? George

This is hilarious! Why it reminds me of something that happened in the Gulf War when... oops, better not get into that one |

I THINK I've seen it, I wasn't sure what the H*** happened, but I was using long range fire on some units(no arty in the stack, I checked b/c my artillery weapon was only impact or laser!) that had just landed on the shore of MY continent and suddenly there was an exchange of fire. I was too surprised to see where, but the artillery unit I was using died with no enemy cities or arty in range. |

I haven't seen it myself, but if it's true I'd say Firaxis has done an outstanding job modeling real life. It's called "friendly fire", which probably had caused more damages than the Iraqis did in Desert Storm. |

I've seen this(only with ships performing the bombardment). I reported it about a month ago and sent Jeff a save. Hopefully fixed in the v3 patch. |

You're right, Rong (funny way to start),All the bugs have added a nice touch of realism to the game. |

In real life, friendly fire rarely duel to the death. Once the miscommunication is currected, they should cease firing on each other. And this happens because of that mis-targetting device. Last time someone bring that targetting device issue up, it's also clled a "nice touch of reality".George |

I remember Brian said in the newsgroup that the targeting problem is fixed in 3.0. Frankly I can hardly wait. |
