posted 03-15-99 01:52 PM ET Haven't tried this but would this get around the can't-target-nothing problem? 1. Send a Locust into enemy territory 2. Set it free (action: turn over to wild) 3. Nuke it that same turn before it moves.
Another thing you might think about to kill your allies: create lots of mindworms, put them next to allied cities, set them free, watch the havoc. Anyone try that too? (For when you don't want to lose honor but want to knock someone down).

I think your idea rocks. Perfect for putting more cities in PB range.

I agree, excellent idea. I've noticed that when you destroy some of your allies' cities by targeting an enemy city with a powerful planet buster, they don't even declare war on you (you must have allowed atrocities first at the planetary council). That's generally how I weaken my allies before declaring war on them and invading what's left. Ironically, I always play with the Peacekeepers and end up bombing everyone.

Using a singularity PB on a mindworm in enemy territory(or any situation) may seem like overkill, unless you've had Planet totally ruin your game before you could build Ascent.
I can see the headlines:
Hive launches 50 megaton missile at a confirmed columbian drug cartel stronghold within Morganic territory.
Collateral damage destroys Morgan Industries and Morgan Shipping, civilian casualties are said to be high. Nwabudike Morgan to make public announcement thanking Chairman Yang for solving the illegal drug problem. Also in the headlines: Profits from Morgan Pharmaceuticals expected to double this year!
