I have noticed that in the manual, the terrain chart (pg 52 I think) says that Xenofungus starts out producing nothing, and can produce as much as 2 each of nutrients, minerals, and energy. However, in the table where it says what advances make Xenofungus more productive (pg 43), it only lists five advances, and when you add them all up, the result is that the most fungus could produce would be 2 nutrient/energy but only one mineral. Is this a typo on this table (ie- there is an advance which is omitted that would allow an additional mineral to be produced) or is it a typo in the terrain table (ie- the most production you could get is 2N,1M,2E)? Anyone know? Thanks.

There is a tech missing from the list.
Matter Transmission provides an additional
mineral in fungus squares for a total of
2-2-2 or 3-2-2 for the Gaians.

It seems to me that the manual is wrong about the fungus squares, this is what I have found out:

Base Production: 0/0/0

Each of the below tech advances will increase production in fungus squares by the value shown:

Centauri Ecology (E1)--> +1N
Centauri Meditation (E5)--> +1E
Centauri Genetics (E7)--> +1M
Centauri Psi (E8)--> +1N
Matter Transmission (B13)--> +1M
Temporal Mechanics (B14)--> +1E
Threshold of Transcendence (E15)--> +1M

For a grand total of 2/3/2, not 2/2/2 as described in the manual. If this is in error, please post back. Hope this helps.

I can't remember what all the advances were, but in a game where I played the Gaians, once I had all the technologies and all the secret projects (except ascent to trancendence), fungus squares were producing 3/3/3.

I missed a tech, the complete list is as follows:

Base Production: 0/0/0

Each of the below tech advances will increase production in fungus squares by the value shown:

Centauri Ecology (E1)--> +1N
Centauri Meditation (E5)--> +1E
Centauri Genetics (E7)--> +1M
Centauri Psi (E8)--> +1N
Secrets os Alpha Centauri (D12)-->+1E
Matter Transmission (B13)--> +1M
Temporal Mechanics (B14)--> +1E
Threshold of Transcendence (E15)--> +1M

For a grand total of 2/3/3 not 2/2/2 as described in the manual.
However, for some reason the Gaians do get 3/3/3 for fungus squares w/all techs discovered. this is even with all social engineering set to defaults. Is this a bug or an undocumented feature of the Gaians?

I don't know about undocumented, but gaians get a +1 nutrients in all fungus squares, even before they research a single tech. Its in gaians.txt

I stand corrected, the Gaians do receive a +1 Nutrient in each fungus square, thanks.
