posted 03-08-99 07:58 PM ET Only got the game recently and played on the first two levels but the AI seems really predictable. A Vendetta followed by the taking of an enemy city forces your enemy into a blood truce plea - every time. Miriam declares war every single time you meet her. Why do the computer players get to state their demands first all the time, even if you instigate the commlink? Why do allied Probe teams get destroyed by the HK algorithm when passing through your territory? Why do the computer players constantly move hundreds of units from the same two cities every time taking absolutely ages. I once had at least 10 probe teams from other factions stuck on Mag Tubes due to ZOC problems - taking 5 mins to move each turn. Some base facilities seem to do absolutely nothing when built - Orbital facilities are supposed to add +1 to your base but even after a launch the base square apparently has the same value.

Funny, I have taken heaps of enemy cities without them offering truces straight away. On the first two levels, at that...
I have also made peace with Miriam on occasions.
W/ orbital facilities, I am not sure it adds it to the city square itself. Not too sure without the game here in front of me...

Orbitals don't add to a base square, they add to the total energy/nutrient/minerals of every city, but not on any specific square.

An ally's Probe teams are NOT friendly! They're out to get what they can from you without your permission! Remember that they have no official existence, so your ally denies acting against you, even when positively identified, though you might choose to break the alliance to show extreme displeasure. Likewise you can use probe teams against your allies.
