I'm quite satisfied with SMAC as a game, but I feel that Firaxis is treating it's non US customers as second grade customers.
We're still waiting for the 2.0 enhancement to appear. I've looked around the site, but can't find any new announcements about it.
Someone who pirates a US version of SMAC has the advantage of being able to use the 2.0 enhancement, while customers like myself who bought the game aren't able to do so.
Firaxis, please fix this situation.
I own a UK version, so there aren't (m)any translation issues. Why do we have to wait so long for the 2.0 enhancement ? What keeps you from releasing it ? Is there a way in which we can swap our non-US versions of SMAC for a US version, so we can profit from enhancements ?

The UK version of terrain.exe is compressed (1.47Mb compared to 3Mb for the US version). This makes it much harder to remove the copy protection (the file being garbled) - discouraging hackers. Who would bother to do this when the US version is so widespread I don't know. I suspect that this also makes it much, much harder to patch.
