Has anyone been having problems with the forums lately. I have been noticing, that posts don't show up until a good half hour later, and when I click to view a topic, many times only half of the posts come off, cutting off midway through. this happens a good 3/4 times. I don't think its my computer, haven't done anything to it lately.

Well I seem to have the same problem unless no one posted an hour after this message, as to what our apparent problem is, I can not say. |

Well now that I have posted this and gone back to the game forum it looks like I don't have a problem there was just a lapse in people posting. |

I have seen this same type message board on another site and it has had similar problems. I think there is a minor bug with the software. I find that if I hit refresh/reload it usually helps, but not always. |

No problem with the boards, just hit reload. Your browser is using the cached version of the document, rather than going to the site to get the most recent version. Hitting reload tells the browser to get the latest version from the site, that's all. |

No that is not the problem, I have even gone as far as to close ie and to clear my cache. And that doesn't explain the half opened topics. |

You mean topic stopping winth <A:HREF... or something? Happens to me 2-3 times a week, maybe an html problem. I miss so much the bulbs, I hardly can remember where *I* did post. After I post a reply, I always go to the forum via link, rather than hitting back, it does update something, so you think it worked, then you find something is missing. Usually, it says new messages in a topic(you can tell it by the number & date), but inside is not updated, so have to refresh again.

I think in general this is just a browser's problem, or a problem of server's busy-ness. Anyway, this IS a forum soft's UI problem: in this particular forums we have a many very large topics. So, since browsers commonly doesn't supports re-loading docs from the place where link has lost (in the case of very big threads), it's a problem.I think it would be GREAT to change it -- to admin, PLEASE make the latest topics appear at the TOP of thread, not at it's tail!!! It's much more clever and usable. Anybody agrees? |
