There is an intersting article of SMAC at CNN.

As an outsider (Not from USA), how common is it that CNN writes about games?

At the end of the artikle there is an interesting question by the writer:
"I wonder, however, if they weren't a bit too conservative in their approach."
...(Comparing SMAC and CIV)...
".,but I wonder what would have happened if these world class designers had really let loose"

Ah yes, the "wonderful sound experience" of hearing one attack noise, be it a jet or a worm. At least the voice overs are good!

Well, maybe that's not where the quote came from.
I am enjoying the game more, now, though.. finally built my first missile! Those things HAUL... now I may have a shot at cracking the Believer's massively guarded bases....

CNN is not a gaming mag (doh!) ... so graphics and sound for them could very well be the Movies, the pyramid for advancements, the voice overs and such ... and I have to admit, they are EXCELLENT!
