Is there any way to defend against a missile (or planet buster) attack? or do you have to just sit there and take your reeming until you can pummel the bastard?

Build orbital defense satelites(sp?). Also, infiltrate datalinks on all factions, and find out where missiles are comming from and launch a counter-offensive on these bases |

Do orbital defenses actually defend against conventional missile attacks? The datalinks are not encouraging on this point. |

No, they do not. That would be a big time waste of your orbital defece pods. |

If you have units with AAA Tracking, in a perimiter defense and with level 6 defense, you have been able to survive missile attacks. There is a period of time where Missiles are VERY powerful and can rip trough a faction. However, the slowly become obsolete. |

The best defense is a good offense, consisting of: One: Very early on, infiltrate all the factions. Make this a priority. Two: Closely monitor other faction's base status reports. Look for builds of planetbusters. Three: Dispatch probe teams to destroy planet busters in the build process. If that fails, take out the silos. I actively look for planetbusters whenever I can, and destroy them early, even when I have orbital defense in place. |
