Well, I'd say buy both (I sure am). But since I never played CTP, I can't compare them. All I can say, is that SMAC is the best game I've ever played, and you won't be dissapointed. |

Buy SMAC! If you think you want CTP, just buy some CivII expansion pack, and play it until the desire goes away. |

I'd buy SMAC, being CiV:CTP is probably just more of the same (like Civ with prettier graphics). Plus, I don't think Sid Meier had a part in CTP. If Sid had anything to do with CTP, you should buy it, but if it's Activision's game and Activison's game only (God I hope Activision are the guys who are making CTP or this will look all loppy), because it's not Civ without Mr. Meier. |

Well, Sid isn't involved with CTP, but Activision has some good ideas going with CTP. They've expanded greatly many areas of the game, and I think I'll be quite impressed with it. Now, if only Microprose can get Birth of the Federation out in March, I'll be very happy. |

Perhaps you should wait until CtP hits the stores. Of course you will have missed so much incredible gameplay from SMAC at that time.Go SMAC, then don't look back. (Sorry) QS
