I have just recieved startling news, which has been verified by a reliable source! Most veterns remember chrisk, the spammer, who yelled and screamed that CTP was king and SMAC sucked (before the game came out mind you!). Well, he has a connection to Activision. This connection is not known by me. However, chrisk recived a beta version of CTP, even though he did not go through the Gamespot public beta! He got a beta version of the game DIRECTLY from Activision! They KNEW who he was, and sent him this beta after his tirades here! This shows that a connection between chrisk (and other SMAC flamers) and Activision does indeed exist! I cannot reveal my name or my sources, and I am sorry. However, everything I've said is true! chrisk's true name is David Borton, and when the NDA of Activision's beta test lifts, then perhaps he will be on that list! However, because of this message, I feel they will try to deny and leave his name off. This is all truth, and there is more which cannot be told. Make your own conclusions; I already have mine.

seriously though, I think that smactivist is right on this one. Wasnt it kinda odd how chrisk kept referring to ctp as being better. That bastard! I think that firaxis is gonna hafta persue this. |

I won't believe this for now, but I will point out that chrisk was kind of good when he came here. Then, in a blink of an eye, he turned into a screaming idiot.Shining1: Domk was a realtively good poster for a few months. I think he was trying(futilly) to get a laugh. Red Dog was a one time thing. Nothing big. Chrisk was a mad idiot, who went off on his ass for several days. Your faithful & hell-bent NIMadier general, YYYH |

HOLY S***! chrick bribed by Activision to try to mess up the AC forums?! My God! If I were Sid & Brian (which I am not), I'd call Activision right now, and ask WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON! I can't believe this!Hey, YYYH? Didn't you notice in the Apolyton forums (where the official/un-official CTP forum is located), that whenever you ask Dominik whether he was Domk, he totally flipped out and became defensive? Maybe he was bribed by Activision also! And now he doesn't want anyone to find out! Imran Siddiqui |

I don't know about the rest of this situation, however, I have heard the name David Borton before. It was in relation to an online Wing Commander club. I would not put anything of this sort past him. I don't know about Activision. |

I dont remember Chrisk supporting ctp but anyway...I will copy a part of Lt John(John Heinecke of the CTP development team) from 24/Feb. "There are many groups of beta testers. We have one big internal testing group that has been checking on the game since September. There are 3 external groups as well. The first group has been testing since November. The second group started in early January. The last group of beta testers (the ones who were accepted via the Gamespot signup) are just receiving their beta builds now." So, chrisk may very well be a beta tester from the other groups. When did he post here? He could be in the January group... Other than that, I dont think that any serious gaming company would bribe a single man to flame another game in it's own forums(and only for a couple days) where he would only find people who like very much or love the game(and to whom his flames would not have any effect). It would be a waste of beta copy if you ask me... Markos, Apolyton CS civilization.gamestats.com |

Well, MarkG. I also happen to know other information why Activision had the motive to flame Firaxis. I can't say it here, however. Maybe later. |

Enough of the "I know something but am not going to tell you."If you have something to say then say it. If not, why even bother to tell us since you won't say it. There's nothing to discuss till you say whatever it is that you think is so important. Best Regards, CaptComal |

Given all this secrecy, I'm more than a little concerned that some illegal stuff may be going on in that background. Care to clarify, Imran? On the other hand, I wouldn't put anything past anybody in any part of the computer industry these days. With the obvious competition for market share between them, I'm surprised Firaxis and Activision weren't firebombing each other's offices, to be honest. ("Heh heh heh. We'll give THEM FIREaxis!") |

Uh...folks (on both sides)....we're just talking about computer games here, right? I'm all for the SMAC vs. CTP debate, but, you know, some perspective perhaps would be cool. |

Well, assuming that crisk dose have a connection with Acrivison that dons;'t mean that he was paid off by them to make some lame attempts of promote CTP. I would think he would be a dumber than average beta tester who thought he could promote CTP through mindless SPAM. |

However, he wasn't a beta tester, when he spammed everyone. He got that after the spamming. (I have ties to SMACtivist AND his source).Imran Siddiqui |
