I have seen this problem many times now and I was wondering if it was a bug or 'just the way it is':
My Spartan PSI squad (regular unit with the wpn and armor) goes up against a Gaian Mindworm. I am told at the beginning of the battle that 'the odds are strongly against me '. The stats of the battle are as follows:
PSI Squad Mindworms
PSI: 3 PSI: 2
Elite: +37% Great Boil: +37%
Planet: +20% Strength: 2.75
Strength: 4.94 Power: 10
Power: 30
My unit won the battle without taking ANY damage. What gives?

I think that combat warning has a lot of problems with it, it seems to have problems taking some of the special abilities into account. It probably was looking at the odds as if you were a regular unit not a psi unit.
