There's a few things that bug me about the game, and a few little enhancements I'd like:

1) When choosing a unit to build, the window that lists all units is too dim. I've got to get my face 2" from the monitor to read the W-A-M numbers.

2) When a pact ends, all units are sent *individually* to the nearest base. The result is that all units inside transports are removed from the transport, so I've got to re-load. When moving transports, please leave all units inside it where I put them.

3) I feel stupid every time I do this, but I keep doing it: I place a new base just slightly off from where I wanted it. If I want it to contain a particular square, or butt right against the neighborhood of another base, I frequently miss by 1 square. I'd like to be able to highlight the squares that will make up the neighborhood of a new base before I actually build it.

4) When I'm dragging a line from a unit to where I want it to go, I can't seem to find a good way to cancel the operation. I hit cancel, which then implores me not to quit the game. When in path-drawing mode, cancel should exit the mode, but not the game.

On 4), yeah, it is a pain. My solution (or lack thereof) is to move the pointer back to the unit. That way she won't go anywhere.

On 1), maybe jacking up the gamma would help (from Menu/Preference/Gamma Correction). Also that's why you should buy the best monitor you can afford. I just love staring at my 19" Mitsubishi DiamondPro 900u, even at 2" away.

A dragging cursor might be a good idea - i.e, the cursor highlights the border of a square whenever it enters. Also, if this would alter the centre left panel that displays the terrain in the square at the same time, that would be good.

This would eliminate 90% of the 'missed square' problems caused the rolling terrain (show a little coordination, people...), as well as having to click on each square to find out what the resources and units there are. Which could be a possible 10-20% on total game time, especially with the crowded screens towards the end.
