I just posted this to the multiplayer board, but this board seems to attract the biggest crowd, so here we go.
I've just created a mailing list dedicated to SMAC multiplayer gaming. My hope is we'll gather a stable crowd of hard-core SMACMPers (is that a word?) to get some PBEM and IP games rolling soon. Sure alphahq would probably fit the bill, but it's still in beta. Besides, who knows which newbie you'll bump into. I had been on the jeep-l list, the camaraderie there is overwhelming. Hope we can achieve that here.

Hey Rong. How 'bout you beating my lack of SMAC skills into oblivion next weekend? Could be fun.
Basically this is also a shameless post to get the topic on top of the thread by me, also.

P.S.Why does AlphaHQ not work at all?I get logged in, but the chat window(or whatever it is) is empty.Is it because it is beta?
