Hey I found them, the lost techs not shown on the tech tree poster or discussed in the Datalinks! Here they are:

Tech: Echinacea
Level: Discover 7.5

Description: Much knowledge was lost to the settlers of planet including the magic of herbal holistic medicine. Alas, not lost were game designers' proclivities toward showing off their intellect.

Well that's all I had time for to post. Anyone else find anything? Maybe Firaxis will put these incredibly useful techs in SMAC II: The Reckoning, their new first-person perspective real-time multi-player civilization simulator due in 2002. Hope you enjoyed the read. Flame away
