Author Topic:   Aircraft Carriers and air units?

Whenever I move a carrier that is loaded with any aircraft it will show up as an aircaft while it is moving. The ship will disappear and turn into the aircraft it is carrying while it is moving. This sometimes will make me forget I am moving the ship and can be confusing. Has anyone else noticed this? Oh and BTW, I can't stop playing this game! Reminds me of when I first got CIV2.

This is a little off subject, but how do you create aircraft carriers? I played a couple of full games but never stumbled across this unit capability.

Carrier Deck is listed as a special ability. see page 183 for details.

You need nanometallurgy and then make a ship with a troop transport mod, then add the special ability carrier deck. My favorite is making a submersible carrier ( sub and carrier special ability).

Oh and I don't know yet how to stop the fighter from showing up when you move your carrier. It is really annoying. One of my favorite things to do on civ2 was to create a loaded carrier group.

I haven't verified it yet, but perhaps if you sentry the air unit on the carrier by hitting "L" might work.
