I read in the manual that you are supposed to hit Shift-L to put your fighters on standby. Whenever I do that, they seem to fly out 8 squares and then fly back 8 squares for no apparent reason. Meanwhile, a bomber comes into my base and takes out a unit. What am I doing wrong?

I was under the assumption that Shift-L would put them on standby waiting for a bomber to come towards my base.
