Its near the end of the game and every other faction on planet has declared vendetta on me. I pay off the PKs and University to get a truce, so I can concentrate on wiping out the Hive and Believers. That damn Russian starts putting University planes in Believer cities! I try to capture the cities and get a "you have signed a blood truce.." message. I gotta know - was this deliberate, Firaxis? It wasn't too hard to fix - I just demanded that the University withdraw from my territory, and he declared war. But it did surprise me.

I think this is by design... and seems realistic to me.Similarly, factions you have PACTS with can send PROBE TEAMS into your cities to steal stuff etc. (though I seem to recall that Firaxis said they were changing this). |

I protect my allies against my other allies by keeping units in their cities. |

I had the UOP, a Pact ally of mine send in a probe team the other day to steal tech, and I got a pop-up asking me if I wanted to declare vendetta against them (or something). This is with the patch installed... |

Something along these lines (well not exactly) I pulled on the AI:Three of us are on an island -- Gaians at the top, a line of Morgan bases in the middle broken by a couple bases I snuck in to get water access, and me at the bottom. The Gaians joined the Hive and started sending planes after the bases I had mixed in with the Morganite cities. Given that I'm Spartan and already way over my reasonable number of bases, I decided to simply give the cities under attack to the Morganites. It was a nice solution: Helps reduce my efficiency problem, helps out my ally, and the rest of my cities are too far away for the Gaians to reach... |

i have done the same thing. I will station a garrison in the cities of the factions i have pacts with if i don't want that city attacked (keeps the AI from eliminating a faction). and probe team actions under a pact is part of the game. what they were going to fix, was being able to identify who the probe team belongs to. BTW, framing another faction does not seem to be an option when you are probe teaming a pacted faction.

Question: if you have the option on to obtain tech when you capture a city, and donate a city to an ally, does the ally learn tech from that city? |

That would make some sense, as the other faction just might reverse-engineer technology from the stuff left in the city. |
