Good game. I have seen the many correlations between this game and Civ. I have also seen all the improvements. I like the voiceovers.
Now for the questions:
1) I was wondering why their are no river gunboats/transports?

2) Why is it that when I am attacked by native mindworms or other faction's mindworms I don't collect any energy credits.

3) I am not seeing the game screens in your
advertisements for the game when I play. I did a full install and added the videomode=1024 to the .ini file. Did I do something wrong somewhere?

4) Can you make it possible for me to inform
the governor of a city what bldgs I don't want him to build? ie: no genejack factory until nanohospital built.

5) Why does it 'have' to be an atrocity to obliterate a city. What if I forced everyone out and then destroyed the city? My idea is that I want to deprive my opponent the city but I don't want it for myself. If I let him take it back so that I can then take it from
him again thereby wearing the city down to nothing he gets the added bonus of obtaining
all of my tech (if I am ahead of him).

I have noticed a problem with the game. I am at war with 3 factions and whenever the move
next to one of my cities or me thiers after
combat the screen saying that my opposite number is on the comm comes up, I click OK, and it comes back up again. The happens 3-4 times and I never get to talk to the person.

Well this is all I have so far. I will stop by again when I have more questions and observations.

Thanks for another great game Sid. Too bad your not still here in NC.

1. Got me. Brian's call.
2. Brian designed it this way on purpose. There was a bug on it, but it was "featured".
3. Like which ones? The base screens are shown in the diplo-win. The vehicle design screen was scraped for one that integrated into the interface.
4. Not that much control, though by selecting "governor" on the basewin, you can tailor general categories.
5. Sorry, some people just won't leave. Lift the U.N. Ban on Atrocities.

5. Uh ... where would you force them to go? ... if you want them to move to another city you need to build them transports (colony pods) otherwise are you forcing them outside to live off the countryside? The air is unbreathable! That would be an atrocity in itself.

1)
Aren't that many rivers, wouldn't be all that important. Units can move over rivers like roads anyway, I think this represents hooking those Rovers up with "Gunboat" technology.

2)
You only get planetpearls for killing mindworms if you attack them first. Otherwise players could really get rich quick early on from occasional mindworms passing through.

3)
Because games usually have their boxes made months before the game goes gold, so old screens which weren't intergrated tend to show up.

4)
I don't use governors myself. I don't trust the AI with any of my valuable hives

Anyway, I don't think you can do anything except, maybe, check your city list regularly and if any are building the undesirable object, just forcably change it around.

5)
Well, do you think murdering 10,000+ people for no real reason is NOT an atrocity?

Anyway, a good solution is to give the city to a neutral third party (preferably one that's powerful.) That way, your opponent can't get the city back without starting yet another war, and you don't have to manage it. Problem solved.

Thanks for the help folks.

Jamie - forgot the air was killer. Dooh!

Prerogative - that is exactly how I got rich. The AI was kind enough to ignore a large portion of the pods and 1/2 of them were infested. I whacked the worms with ease and got paid.
Your right about the govs. I let them run things for the first several hundred turns of
the game but I just wasn't impressed with what they were doing. It was still necessary for me to keep a good eye on them.
I did what you suggested with the extra cities but gave them to my pact brother (I am Santiago and he is Lal - go figure).
