Well, I am playing with ver 2.0 and found out about this bug (not really a bug since it's actually BENEFICIAL to you . Anyway this is the bug, pick any artilerry unit (either land based with the "heavy artilerry" ability or any capital ships), select the unit, move the map and put the pointer over any terrain with enhancements on them; even if the terrain is half a world away, press "F" to fire right after the pointer turns to the targeting recticle and BOOM!!! This is still subject to normal artilerry hitting rules, sometimes you hit, sometimes you miss. I tried to hit units with them, but most of the time the game won't let me, though sometimes it will the unit. Firaxis, no rush fixing this one up :PMwahahahah!!

Nasty. I haven't had it successfully destroy anything, though. The cursor should always be set to "null" when outside of 2 squares. Thanks.jkm firaxis games |

I always wondered if I was supposed to be able to destroy farms and forests from 20 squares away. |

I tried this and you can destroy improvements halfway around the world! This needs to be fixed. |

Well, speaking of artillery (and since J.M. has been sighted here today), I thought I'd repeat what I said in another group--In the patch, is there any thought to making it easier to see just where you're targeting with artillery? It's hard to be sure you're aiming at the right square, especially when the target is on a slope. Targeting drop troops is even harder-- I have no idea where, in that "parachute" cursor, the hot spot is. It would be great if the square underneath the targeting/drop cursor were highlighted. Ideally, the "what's in this square" area in the bottom-left display would show what was in the target square. Is there any chance of this for the patch? (You could just add it in as an optional "preference" setting.) Just a thought, --A2 |
