I'm playing the updated version and have noticed that my Probe units have a distinct difference from both the Demo and V.1--when I send them into another player's base I no longer get the option to try and displace blame on another faction!
Can anybody tell me what changed, what I'm missing, and how to get back to where I was (preferably in V.2)? I really want to blame another faction and as it is my Probe team ALWAYS is detected--despite being Commando or Elite status, and so forth.

I noticed this too... can't frame anybody else anymore at all!

I have noticed this problem in Version 2, but it did give me the option of framing the Believers who were eliminated from the game. Framing the Believers was the only option I was given so I decided to try it and succeeded. The Gaians then declared war on the Believers even though they were no longer in the game... It sounds like a bug to me

I can confirm this. I posted a question about this the other day but didn't get any answers zi was looking for. I cannot frame other factions. Do we need some kind of technology or something??

Sound like the beta in beta patch isnt just a catchy title - Beta Centauri .
It really IS a buggy patch!

Well before I place blame onthe game I just want to make sure I am not doing anything wrong. I have comm's frequencies to all factions and want to frame them when my probe teams succeed but I have no options to frame anyone. Do i need a tech?

Jeffrey, thank you. I thought it might be related to the new probe setting in ALPHA.TXT, so tried a few variant settings, but it didn't seem to help.
