I don't think lifting the UN charter does anything. If you use a planet buster, everyone still hates, and they still turn against. Lady Deidre turned against when I vetoed to reinstate the charter (she was the second most powerful faction). I think that vetoing to reinstate the charter shouldn't get anyone upset, since I am the planetary government. I couldv'e won the game earlier, if it wasn't for her. Luckily I had a clean gravitron deathspere lying around and I quicly took care of that problem.

The PlanetBusters aren't exactly covered under the charter, because it's sorta like the spies planting a nuke in Civ2. Also, Diedre prolly turned against you because she (the AI) was thinking that if she had the charter reinstated, it would further her (AI's) goals better.Besides, Diedre loves the planet, and the Planet Buster leaves a nice little crater and a pissed planet. |

I had some good experiences with the charter lifted. I used nervegas, obliterated cites and conducted my own little genetic warfare with probeteams. In the end I opted to use PBs because Gaia was getting to big and to my big supprise nothing happend - no vendettas. I had enslaved the UoP and PK early on so they did not do anything. As for the rest of them I cannot remember if I was at war with all of them. The bad part about committing atrocities is that the faction which had to suffer them, never gonna talk to you again.... |
