I must say that SMAC is another transcendant gaming experience from Sid, Brian, and the rest of the gang at Firaxis. I've only played the game for 2 days and it has already become my new strategy game of choice, replacing Civ2 for the #1 spot. Now to the other point of my post: While playing SMAC, I've noticed the game contains the ambience, shadows (hard to define Anyway, GREAT GAME, FIRAXIS! |

), and atmosphere of some of the great SciFi movie masterpieces, most notably 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) and Solaris (1972). These 2 movies seem to have had a great influence on this game as Star Wars and Alien seemed to have on Starcraft and MOO2. Hell, I don't know, could be my imagination
