Well, I think that's unfair. Yes, CTP does have a Lawyer unit which can sue units (destroying them in the process) as well as other non-sequiter units and non-sequiter ideas and other just plain old good ideas that need to be implemented better. But it still has yet to go gold, or to be played. I myself would like to see them both as equals, seeing as how the TBS market has a huge audience but barely any games to appease us. "The more the merrier" I always say.
And it's very harsh to judge a game before playing it anyways. Who knows, maybe the way
lawyers work will be implemented in very witty style, or perhaps space battles will be the best thing since sliced settlers. It all remains to be seen.

One more time, lwayers can only attack lawyers or the corporate unit. The cannot attack military units.
To answer the question, I dont know. I'll tell you in a couple weeks when I have played both...

That's easy. SMAC is better because it's HERE NOW. I can play it as soon as I get home.
(I suspect SMAC will turn out to be better than Civ:CTP, but who knows yet...)

Oh, so that's how Lawyers work. Whew, that's a load off. Envisioning a lone lawyer waving down some Abrahms tanks and bringing them to court seemed FAR too silly
Well, if you want my personal opinion of which I THINK will be better (seeing as I won't be able to get SMAC in my grubby hands for another week, darn money) I'd have to lean towards SMAC. Yes, CTP has alot of ideas, but some seem too complex or too un-Civish to fit into Civ's dynasty. I'm not saying they're in and of themselves BAD, but rather they're more welcome in a Non-Civ TBS game.
But I'm poorly educated on CTP, the last time I checked Apolyton or Activision's website was December.
