Besides satellites, you mean, right? Nobody uses them to fight with much anyhow against the AI, it seldom builds them.Firaxis would probably have to make an entirely new game, utilizing the same old Civ2 engine of course . SMAC runs poorly/choppy on a lot of peoples systems already, throwing in a space map and space units/tech tree would probably crash everything but a Pentium XIII. There are already a lot of highly recommended space/strategy games on the market - MOO/MOO2 Star General, etc. I can't recommend them personally as I haven't bought them (yet) but they have a strong following on the forums. realizing he just admitted to never having played MOO, Please, not in the face! Not in the face! sandworm |

Yes, but the problem I have with MOO & MOO2 is that you don't do nothing on the planetary level(not really). |

So is it kind of like having cities on a land map, and you just call the cities - planets and the terrain squares/hexes - space?Planets = resources and space= well, space? |

Sandworm... yes, that's what its like. With units automatically stacking and being able to travel a specific range from any friendly star. You manage planets in Acsendancy. And design your ships. Nice Tech Tree, yadda yadda yadda. Not the best Space Conquest game, but I have a soft spot for space games. -Darkstar |

Hey Ds... you know anything about Starsiege.... I belong to the columbia house cd-rom club and I forgot to send in my card saying I didnt want any selection this month so I am going to get the selection of the month automatically and it happens to be Starsiege. If it is any good I will keep it and not return but do you or anyone know something about this game that you can tell me. |

Starseige is a first-person mech shooter. (Or as they call them, "HERCs" for some reason.) It's a continuation of the Earthsiege game line. I have the first two. They're pretty good, but they're action games.Unless you got Starseige Tribes, which is a multiplayer-only squad-level first person shooter. On the other hand, they're both Sierra games, so I'd be a little leery. |

Thanks, Evk....doesn't sound like I am really going to like it then as I am not really into FPS games. Everytime I shoot at my monitor with my .357.....I have to buy a new one. It gets expensive you know. |
