Ok, can someone explain what a One City Challenge is? I can't find it on the net anywhere. However, just so you don't think me retarded, I will tell you what i THINK it is. Is it where you only go with the city that you start out with, not bulding anymore?

And if so, are there any other catches?
(ie: if you capture an enemy base do u have to abandon it?)

There are many variants, but the Ultimate (hardest) is said to be:

Transcend level
Ironman on
Blind research on
Aggressive AI
All winning conditions on
Random events on
Must disband starting second colony pod within 5 turns
Must disband any captured city within turns + pop x 2
Cannot build any offensive units except prototypes
Cannot armor any units
Can keep any units found in pods, or gifted by pact brothers/sisters
Must play Map of Planet
Must retain Noble standing
must have 0 eco-damage

You can choose any faction

Challenge categories are:

fastest transcend
fastest military victory (never achieved)
earliest corner energy market (never achieved)
fastest co-operative victory
highest smac score

Other variants allow offensive units, or thinker level, but the above is generally conceded to be the toughest.

Some posters here play it, but I've found most that do post on the www.Apolyton.net site. That's where the hall of fame is maintained.
