I would like to add the borehole scenario to the contests. However, for some reason - the scenario only gives a score for objectives and victory. This makes a contest worthless. Can anyone tell me what to modify to get the normal AC score, or is it impossible? play the Scenario Contests at: http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Dome/3802/

You are using save games for scenarios so I'm not sure. Did you play those games out to create those conditions? If you go into scenario editor you should be able to change the victory condition and scoring. I haven't checked that out yet. But I don't think you could post the save game. It would say cheater. |

Just checked it out. Under Scenario Victory Conditions. I think if you check Highest score wins, then it will use the normal scoring to determine the winner. I haven't checked this out though. There are also other things you can make as objectives (base facilities, population etc.) |

dont think this will work for a contest - cause someone can edit the scenario before they start - and we would never know - right ???? |

The only thing I can think of is when you get the save game. Activate scenario editor to check the settings. Of course this won't tell you if they did a whole bunch of create units. |

Change the scenario setting. Save the scenario. Restart the scenario with each of the factions. And save the game just as soon as you start. And post all 4 save games. |

Aceplayer - when you modify the scenario, you save it as a .SC file. Then when someone plays it as a game, they save it as a .sav file - if they enter the scenario editor from the save, it will record as a cheat. Anyone can do the same thing with your save files - modify them as a .SC, then reload them as a save. The fix is to load the scenario and set it up as a password protected multiplayer (hotseat-PBEM), with only a single human player. The password can be anything - MtGrules, or whatever, but something short and easy is cool - just mention it on the site and make it the standard one for all the scenarios. Once a game is set as password protected - the scenario editor can not be loaded at all from that game, thus no cheating. (at least with the SE - all the other right click, unit workshop and base swap cheats can still be done.) |

aceplayer, what MtG says is:- You're playing a normal, single player save. - Ctrl-K, you now have a "CHEATER" note in the score sheet. - Do the cheater stuff - Save the game as a scenario (Ctrl-F7 or something like that) - Restart the game, using the scenario you just created - Save it as usual... you have a .SAV, without the cheat notice Starting the .SAV as multiplayer hotseat would prevent this, as the scenario editor can't be activated at all for MP games.
