Author Topic:   How irritating is the Reactor Upgrade?

I am sure this ticks off more than me... I turn off Auto-Design, and yet, SMAC continues to auto-design! It should either let me go through the mess of upgrading everything or ASK me, but not do it. What's the point to half of what it upgrades?

It IS a pain in the a$$ DS - especially when it wants to make useless upgrades such as to non combat units, where all it does is make them more expensive. I armor seaformers, so the reactor upgrade makes sense there, but not on units without armor.
It should either be all on or all off - I hate the stupidity of Auto-Design anyway.

Ah the "Mighty" Michael Emerges from the depths of the SMAC forum shadows. I was just wondering how did you get aceplayer to surrender to you? After all my time in the forum noone has surrendered to me!

Bossman - He had a little arrogant post (he's learned now) that I spanked him for, about some save games he posted as scenarios.
He said "none of you big talkers" could beat him. So I decided to check out his scenarios, thrashed his score in the first one I played, and started a new trend, since my oh-so-humble posts inspired other people to try to thrash my scores.
I lurked on the forum since before the great crash, but never bothered to sign up, since I thought it was pointless until I got the game and stomped it enough times to occasionally know what I was talking about.

Auto design is almost worse than automated formers. And YES, reactor upgrades are ****ing annoying, (remember I run SMAC on a P100 ) since I need to spend 10-50 minutes pruning the stoopid upgrades afterwards.
Hate it.
