I once posted "I have nothing to post." It got 30 replies. But THIS thread... Pure genius! It has a kind of quasi-hypnotic power to it that makes a sorry visitor say: "Hey, if I don't post there, people might not know I exist. And if they don't know I exist, do I stop existing?" AND, as if that weren't enough, the thread touts an almost relevant purpose, begging one to conclude: "Hmmm. THAT is important to know, actually. How many people ARE posting here? Well, I had just better post myself so as to not throw off the data. I'm not looking for a cheap way to up my post count. This is SCIENCE!" And the absolute sure sign that a thread is genius is when lurkers post in it. I've only had that happen twice--but it was pure luck. Nothing like the cool, calculated manipulation of the masses that's going on here...beautiful. Aceplayer: Need a manager? |

I post here, but I'm just getting going again after a serious SMAC session, new high score for me too, 10192. Had 700,000 energy credits. I was playing the Gaians. I'll be going on vacation on Saturday, so forget about me being here next week, but after that I'm back, for real this time. |
