Despite the fact that the manual says that armour is really expensive for all flying units (sounds logical), armour costs absolutely nothing!It's not just a matter of synthmetal speeder costing the same as a synthmetal garisson, even the most expensive armour I've ever had, doesn't cost a thing on these things. Combine this with the fact that copters are ridiculously powerful anyway, and you've got just about the most unbalancing unit I've ever seen in a serious game. This really needs a fix. Does any of the patches address this?

dunno what you mean -a shard chopper is 40 credits - but with plasma - its 80 credits |

Air units did not get charged correctly for armor previous to Version 3. MCV, have you downloaded and installed the Enhancement/Patch 3?-Darkstar |

mcv is right, but it depends on the reactor. A 'Copter with Sing can have High Morale and armor up to Silksteel (probably if that ability was taken away, it would go higher), with Quant - Synthmetal (or even more - I'm not sure about this). AFAIR it is because reactors lower the mineral cost to some level. I have Patch 3.0.LoD |

mcv - Try to build this, but not if you need it in a hurry.Antigrav Singularity reactor Singularity Laser Stasis Armour Blink Clean Excluding the Ascent to Trancendance, all the SP's cheaper than this puppy. :/ |

Sorry I took so long to reply.I just installed the game, and I don't have patch 3 yet. I understand that should solve it? I didn't see it mentioned anywhere in the things the patch fixes. And IIRC the patch also allows you to set your mindworms free in the territory of your ally that you want to hurt but can't because he's your ally. Which isn't really fair, IMHO. |
