Topic: HARDMAN is really Brian Reynolds!

Think about it:The forums were in danger of falling apart as the rifts between newbies and vets, the game forum and the off-topic forum, and blah and non-blah slowly caused the forum to degenerate into random arguments. So BR created "HARDMAN" with the sole purporse of uniting the forums against a common enemy. Why would you bother donning an itchy asbestos suit to fight with trip when you can just hurl all your flames at somebody who doesn't even flame with correct grammar? Eventually, people would forget about flaming each other and instead focus on HARDMAN. After all, it's a lot safer hitting a punching bag (i.e. someone who doesn't fight back) than hitting a real person. So far, it seems to be working. But will the peace hold? Was Freddz Nostradamus correct in predicting the next forum war? Or will Brian Reynold's alternate alias quickly defuse an unstable situation?

E_C,You could be right. Alternatively, I suspect that the h-word is one of the regulars trying to liven the forum up a bit. I mean, he couldn't really exist, could he? |

Yeah, it's scary to think that such people actually exist in the real world. It's almost more comforting to think of them as somebody's alter ego, or even an elaborate cover-up by the CIA to keep us from the real truth, than to try to imagine someone like HARDMAN as a real person |

Absolutely.I know it sounds a bit like the naff " if you don't laugh you'll cry" sort of thing, but I wonder if I'll have nightmares with strange creatures telling me "It's true - HARDMAN is real". Am I cracking up or is the world mad? |

evil_conquerer: I'm sorry to have to be the one that breaks it to you, Hardman is real.. There are surfers out there that do get a kick out of visiting forums and just randomly flaming. |

RC: MTG = Magic: the Gathering... classic card game, also available on PC and online courtesy of MicroProse... one of the red cards is called "Immolation".It seems that quite a few peeps on this forum also play M:tG, although now that we have MichaelTheGreat in our midst, things have got a little confusing, seeing as he gets shortened to MtG as well... hmmm Nell... more useless information to add to the post count... |
