I'm new to the game, so take it easy on me.Is there any way to find out which Network Nodes already have artifacts attached? I forget.

First, you can send the Alien Artifact to each Network Node until one accepts it.--OR-- If you are in 800x600 mode (and I am stating this as hearsay since I use 1024x768), the HQ Menu for listing the bases will show which Network Nodes are being used (this doesn't work at the higher resolution). |

You select an alien artifact and use the 'go to base' command (press G). A list of list of bases will show up and if a base has an unlinked node it will say (unlinked node) next to the base name. |

Thanks. I hadn't used goto base; it seems like there is more value there than I'd realized.I'm somewhere between learning the game and discovering strategies. Give me another 30 days. |

Stasis Archon: Thanks. I got the wrong screen. However, I have never seen this in 1024x768 mode so I believe that it only works in 800x600 mode. If I am wrong, I humbly apologise for my error |

I play in 1024*768 and the unlinked bases will show as unlinked. |

On the Base Facilities screen, it will say '(Linked)' next to the Network Node if it is linked. |

I build a lot of cities, and the network nodes are really not that important early on until I have an artifact to feed them. The only disadvantage to the game screens for unlinked nodes is that they only account for already completed network nodes, and not ones in progress, so it also helps to flip through the city display and look at the build queues, to get a better idea of where to send your artifacts. As far as being new to the game - if anyone has reasonable and politely asked questions, the vast majority of regulars here will he happy to give you the best answer they can. Flames are really only reserved for true jerks. So feel free to post your questions. |

Also, when you have most of your bases with psi gates, and you are gating the artifact to another base, 'that' list also shows which bases are unlinked.Plus, in either list, it will show which base has the Universal Translator if you've built/captured it. ~Rackam |
