I was just playing a game and I was on my own continent all by myself(first time ever) and I started playing a builder style game. Had only one monolith on the continent so I built roads leading to it and was upgrading all my units when after about 100 years the monolith just disappeared. Gone...never happened to me before...does this actually happen?..Dam!!

You get only so many "free upgrades" from a monolith, after which it's energy is spent and it disappears off the face of the earth. It has happened to me in lots of games. In one where I was playing Lal, and battling Miriam, she had 3 bases around the Ruins, and by the time I secured the area, only 4 out of the original 8 Monoliths were still standing. (I guess that's where that endless flow of Commando and Elite units came from... didn't save her arse, though, she's still screaming in that punishment sphere )Aredhran

Thanks Aredhran...I never had that happen before but with only one monolith on my little continent I must have wore out the sob. |

Shouldn't that be off the face of Chiron, Aredhran? The first time a monolith disappeared on me, I was in shock. It takes a LOT to get them to go away, but it would be nice to get a tech that let you see how many charges are left, or the percentage it will go away. Those 2/2/2 resource benes can be awful nice for a base that thinks its the Hicks (or just early game). And losing it like that can hurt! -Darkstar |

I thought I had read somewhere that a monolith had a 1/32 chance of disappearing each time it was used. |
