One of my Pact brothers transferred a unit to me to use while at war with another faction. Is it possible, and if so how, for me to transfer units to other factions/pact bros. etc?

It's possible - even with captured wild mindworms. When the unit is active, right click on it, or go to the menu and click action - there's a keyboard shortcut. There are some restrictions - whose territory it's in and treaty/contact status, but nothing major.

The shortcut to transfer units is CTRL-U or CTRL-SHIFT-U I don't remember. The unit you wish to give must be in the territory or sitting in a city of some faction you have a treaty (? not sure) or a pact with.
