I actually got a base built on top of Mount Mountain although it was rocky, any other people saw this kind of phenomenon?

Univarse: You mean you built one yourself, or you saw one of the AI factions build one? I've seen the AI building on top of Mount Planet quite often (especially the Hive, for some reason), but haven't been able to build there myself, whether or not the tile is rocky. I always thought it was just an AI glitch...?Nell |

Michael: Was that before Patch 3? I only played about two games before installing that patch, and since then I can't build on top of Mount Planet.I'm not still up, I'm sleep typing Night! Nell |

Nell - I have a saved game where the Hive sent a pod to build a city on the lava in version 3. They skipped the 10 or so tiles that were between, to gain the bonus land. (You know how they are about the special lands) Does that count? The AI can and does disobey the rule about not building in or on the Volcanic terrain. Just like the terraforming rules are flaky about Volcanic, and how the AI can build sensors and roads on the Lava. Hey, that is the way the programmers made it. Obviously a feature that is just misunderstood by us stupid users, because its always been that way and they haven't bothered changing it despite it being reported to them by just around 50 different users... (hard to tell how many since the forum's got wiped and threads lost...) -Darkstar |

I've built on top of Mount Planet lots of times, but only when the top square wasn't rocky (sometimes it's rolling). Are you sure it was rocky terrain? |
