How did the translators handle the voice in the movies in the non-English versions (left as them they were, subtitles, full dubbing)? I'm asking this because I'm preparing an amateur localization myself.LoD

You wanna know what LoD. I don't think anybody will. You see, people who have the versions which require translation are called foriegners. Foriegners are stuck up people, they won't help a guy out if he needs it.Trippin Daily -don't ask me why I said it, cause I don't know- |

Err, I think you've overlooked one fact: by your standards, *I'm* a stuck up foreigner. And, as you probably noticed, I try to answer most questions on the forums.LoD *I'm not mad at you, I just treat that as a "fuel leakage" out of your flamer * PS. I'm repeating my plea: please answer my question! By not doing it you're actually proving that trippin's right! |

Sorry for not-answering your question, but I didn't see the thread till today. They made full dubbing (at least in the German version). What do you want to localize? PS: Of course, trippin is NOT right. ;-) |

the german version is fully translated. the handbook, map,all of the text, all of the speech and the videos were perfect translated. they took very good speakers (think they are professionell synchron speakers) for the blahblah. the bugs in the texts are only minor.most of the times the translations of us games are ranged between crap and hope-you-get-the-job-done-better-next-time. but alpha centauri is really good. coz of that friends and i often buy the import versions. btw, especially the localized first-person-shooters are lacking of violence, gore and blood not only of a good translation (!!!) (protect the youth blah blah...) Tres (i know my english is not so good, but im not a professional) |

TheScientist & Tres: Thanks ! TheScientist: Only the text files - they'll be easy to download, especially when zipped. I'm doing it because it's not yet localized (they ship the English version)LoD |
