![]() ![]() ![]() I scoured my HD, but for the life of me I can't figure out which part has the low-res pics in it, so I was wondering if somehow I didn't delete it. Furthermore, I was wondering if any of you -wonderful- ![]() Lastly: I think you get more alien-artifacts the sooner you get them after planetfall. |

![]() ![]() ![]() Lacish: The low-res images are on the Alpha Centauri CD-ROM, in the folder Alternative Art\Low Res Caviar. My email client doesn't support messages over 2Mb in size, and the Low Res Caviar folder is 5.96Mb (3.45Mb zipped), so I can't send it to you, in case you don't have the CD-ROM. You've probably already read the readme.txt file bit about improving game speed, but for what it's worth, here's Firaxis's advice: * Included in the Alternative Art folder on the CD-ROM is a Low Res Caviar folder. Copy the contents of this folder to the directory you installed the game to. The default is c:\program files\firaxis games\sid meier's alpha centauri. These files reduce the detail in the units, but can improve performance. Hope this helps. |

![]() ![]() ![]() Not that I've tried this particular trick, but my friend swears by it. He treats this mary jane fellow so well, and in return, time flies for him, even when he is staring at duke nukem 3d run on his lil bro's 25 mhz 486. It is slow for those of you who don't know, at least if you don't have mary janes speed tips. It seems to speed up his computer or something. ![]() ![]() Trippin Daily |
