How can you retrieve a pod from a small body of water? There is a pod in a 2 square lake in my current game. I've tried: Amphibious units -won't walk on water Helicopter -won't land on water Foil and crawler -foil won't enter crawler Foil and Transport -won't enter transport Use group w/ above -foil left behindI have avoided building a colony near the lake, just to build a foil to recover the pod. This seems like too much work for a pod. So next I am going to try: Raise land on adjacent square to raise pod on to land. Will the pod be buried? Use drop troops. Will they "drown" in the lake? Build a colony by the lake. What a waste. You can transport land troops with both land a sea transports, why can't you transport foils with land transports? thanks,

You can't transport Naval units via Land transports because... a) the programmers didn't think of it, or b) they didn't think you should. You can't drop land troops in water. Not even in your own Naval bases. You have to: a) raise the land, turning the lake tile with pod into a land tile, b) build a canal by LOWERING land to open a water way into lake, c) build a base on the waterline so that you can build a naval unit, d) get it with a Gravship chassis vehicle. -Darkstar |

I couldn't raise the land, build a canal, or start a colony without starting a war with the faction that owns the lake. I couldn't get the gravship to open the pod.I think there is a flaw in the amphibious units. They can walk across one square of water, a canal, but they won't open the pod in that one square of water. Is there a hack for one of the text files to fix this. Any one of the following; >Helicopter opens pod in water at end of turn taking 30% damage. >Gravship opens pod in water if it has a transport module. >Land unit with transport module can carry a foil. >Amphibious unit can open pod in water while crossing a canal. >Pods in water are more that 2 squares away from land. (Don't put pods in small lakes) Pods are kind of like Christmas presents, you never know what's inside until you open them. They are fun to find and open, and the alian artifacts are valuable. Showing the gamer an unobtainable pod is teasing. -Geof the Wicked
