I was horrified to realize recently that command centers and facilities of this type also improve the morale of probe teams. It really is odd, given that certain techs in the game improve the morale of probe teams. I figured that this was the only way to improve their morale (besides using Fundy).
Is this a bug? Probe teams are not military units, so according to the documentation,
they should not receive the morale upgrade of base facilities. It is a shame that this is
not the case-- using Fundy becomes nearly useless in the midgame.

Not necessarily, because the +2 Proble makes your bases harder to be tempted with by other probe teams.

If you'll notce, it does this with Formers and Supply Crowlers late in the game. I have all of these Commando Drop Supply Crawlers littering the landscape in my current game.
