A lot of keyboard commands do work as an undocumented feature. For example -- I can't recall seeing it, but perhaps it's in the manual somewhere -- the numeric pad moves units the Civ way.
At any rate, I have just found out that, in the Unit Design Workshop, the <home> key zips you all the way to the first design (the first one after all the basic designs). <page up> and <page down> also move the scroll bar back and forth by a screenful.
That makes moving around the scroll bar almost livable. Now when I need to prune the obsolete designs, I only need to press <home>, then <page up>, then click on the obsolete design, then click on "retire." Much faster than clicking around with the mouse alone.

This may have been discussed before, but here it is anyway. In the Base screen Shift+C takes you to the Production Screen (Change) and Shift+H grants the Hurry confirmation popup. Nice for playing with the keyboard on your lap.

Yes, lots of undocumented shortcut keys.
It was Zoetrope, IIRC, that educed us about the use of movement keys in the screen bottom units slider.
You missed one, UR! Try using the <END> key to jump to obsolete units!
Odd thing, the NumPad works for me in Win95 at home with NumLock ON, and at work in NT4.0 with NumLock OFF.
Too bad I can't use the NumPad to write numbers in SMAC dialogs! (i.e. edit the year in savefiles, enter credits to spend to hurry, and so on).
And if I use Home/End in Save/Load dialogs, it moves the cursor in the edit box, not in the files scrolling list (tried to move the focus w/ mouse or TabKey, no use)
